For Drop 2 of Pre-Fall 26, Guest In Residence stays close to home. One unplanned day in New York City — dogs through the park, a rowboat on the Lake, the last light from the harbor — dressed in the lightweight cashmere, silk, and linen the season was built on.
A city best taken without a plan
The best New York days have no itinerary. This one starts with the dogs on Fifth Avenue — arguably the best-dressed New Yorkers on the block — drifts past the Guggenheim, and finds its way onto the Lake in Central Park. A rowboat in the middle of Manhattan remains one of the city's great pleasures: bring a tote, a blanket, and someone worth being quiet with.
What pre-fall means to us
Pre-fall is the knit you carry, not the coat you need. Lighter gauges and softer blends — a cashmere cardigan worn open in butter yellow, a striped cashmere polo, a crewneck knotted at the shoulders the way New Yorkers have always done it.
